WSR6 Hardware Injections

by Andrea Vicere last modified 2008-07-08 10:11

Some details about WSR6 hardware injections

During WSR6 two injection sessions took place

Session#1

CB    injections: from GPS 849075511 to GPS 849079011
Lines injections: from GPS 849079011 to GPS 849079111
Burst injections: from GPS 849079481 to GPS 849082181

Session#2

CB    injections: from GPS 849221498 to GPS 849224998
Lines injections: from GPS 849224998 to GPS 849225098
Burst injections: from GPS 849225168 to GPS 849227868

The same signal shapes as during WSR5 were injected. However, for the case of burst events the signal scales were changed during the session.

Four kind of events were injected:

  1. BNS events, m1=1.39, m2=1.47,
    nuLow=50Hz, Nominal Distance=1.08 Mpc,
    Optimal orientation,
    Nominal SNR=21.3
  2. DFM events, a=2 b=4 g=1,
    Nominal Distances(Kpc): 0.36       0.17    0.10
    Nominal SNR values     : 13.5       29.0     48.3
  3. Gaussian events, sigma=1ms,
    Nominal HRSS: 6.94e-21       1.49e-20     2.48e-20
    Nominal SNR  :       15.4             33.0           55.0
  4. Cosine-Gaussian events, Q=15, f0=920,
    Nominal HRSS: 1.45e-21     3.11e-21    5.18e-21
    Nominal SNR:         8.86           19.0           31.6

The three values of parameters given for bursts refer to the increasing values of the SNR used during the injections. One third of the burst injection session was dedicated to each scale, in increasing order.

The SNR values were computed using the hrec-v2 data set,  with 600s starting at GPS 849073380

In addition to hardware injections, lines were injected during 100s at the end of each series of BNS injections.
For both instances two lines were injected

  • Line1: Amplitude=4e-6V, Frequency=102Hz
  • Line2: Amplitude=8e-6V, Frequency=352Hz

Event information in frame files:
WSR6 first injection session (GWF)
WSR6 second injection session (GWF)

Event information in txt file:
WSR6 first injection session (TXT)
WSR6 second injection session (TXT)

The frame files were produced using the vega script parseHrec, which in turn massages the SimEvent information produced by the h-reconstruction on the basis of the Sc_Loop_In channel.
