ER6

by Nicolas Leroy last modified 2014-11-12 16:18

ER6 will happen in December 2014

This will page will gather information from Virgo side for the preparation of this run.

The run will end for Virgo the 27th of December as we will shutdown completely the DAQ and the full injection system as the computing group will start a large upgrade of the computing system.

Note that part of our LIGO colleagues will have difficulties to access this page and part of this content will need to be moved to JRPC and/or DAC wiki pages, see links at the bottom.

h(t) production

We plan to use some injection channel to simulate the h(t) signal. We will then recolor it to match a early sensitivity similar to the one achieved by the Livingston observatory which is currently the only ITF that will provide directly a calibrated h(t) signal

A possible signal is INJ_IMC_TRA_DC which correspond to the power transmitted by the Input Mode Cleaner on the injection bench

ITF status and activities

We will report here useful information on the status of the Injection system and possible interventions planned

Detchar activities

Here is a list of what the Virgo detchar group plans to deliver for ER6:
- low-latency noise transient analysis: Omicron triggers over more than 400 channels, including h(t).
- low-latency noise spectral analysis: NoEMi? (TBD).
- low-latency detector data monitoring
- status flags: 'science-mode' and 'reconstruction' flags
- online DQ flags: the online DQ state vector will be filled with V1 DQ infos (CAT1 and CAT2). On top of status flags, CAT2 DQ flags will be specifically tailored for CBC and Burst online analyses.

Status flags

A DQ state vector should be delivered along with h(t) data...

Omicron

Omicron is running with 3 different configurations for 592 channels with :
- channels with a sampling frequency above 4096 Hz can be found under /data/procdata/detchar/Omicron/online/parameters/POSTER5/channels/std.txt. The triggers are produced between 8 and 2048 Hz and for SNR > 8
- channels with a lower sampling rate are listed in /data/procdata/detchar/Omicron/online/parameters/POSTER5/channels/std2.txt . The triggers are produced between 8 and 512 Hz and for SNR > 8
- There is also a specific configuration to look for signals to very low frequencies, see the list of channels in /data/procdata/detchar/Omicron/online/parameters/POSTER5/channels/low.txt, you will find mainly environmental probes

The three configurations are running on the same machine testDAQvm2p-1
The processes can be seen with https://olserver40.virgo.infn.it:30000/ under Detchar section

Online DQ

- We need to rerun the usual cat1 DQ we have in the past like saturation, basic checks on PSL or INJ, ....
- We need to re-activate BRMSMon to produce basic flags
- UPV will be run offline over Omicron triggers to optimize the veto thresholds. These thresholds will then be applied to online Omicron triggers to produce online vetoes.
