Simulations done with DarkF and the actual measured maps. The full interferometer is simulated with perfect EM. No signal recycling, as the first stage of Advanced Virgo.
2 points regarding the following results:
- The SB gain and overlap is related to the PRC circulating field, so as extracted by the POP.
- For reference: for the simulation, North arm with IM02 and CP02 and West arm with IM04 and CP04
Starting point: the perfect interferometer (can not get better than that):
PRC carrier Gain | Carrier overlap with TEM00 | SB sideband gain | SB overlap with TEM00 |
36.5 | 100% | 68.4 | 100% |
The worst case: incuding all the maps with no correction:
PRC carrier Gain | Carrier overlap with TEM00 | SB sideband gain | SB overlap with TEM00 |
30.7 | 97.6% | 4.8 | 22% |
If we suppose a perfect correction of the curvature:
PRC carrier Gain | Carrier overlap with TEM00 | SB sideband gain | SB overlap with TEM00 |
34.4 | 99.9% | 58.5 | 88% |
And now replacing one by one the CITF optics with the equivalent perfect one.
Optic replaced | PRC carrier Gain | SB sideband gain | SB overlap with TEM00 |
All is perfect | 100% | 100% | 100% |
All the real optics | 94% | 86% | 88% |
PRM | 94% | 85% | 88% |
POP | 94% | 88% | 90% |
BS | 96% | 87% | 89% |
CP02 | 94% | 86% | 88% |
CP04 | 94% | 94% | 95% |
IM02 | 96% | 85% | 87% |
IM04 | 95% | 86% | 88% |
