Simulation of optical matrices

by Gabriele Vajente last modified 2008-06-25 11:29

Using Finesse and the parameters outlined in Possible lengths and modulation frequencies for Advanced Virgo, optical matrices have been simulated.

The following convention has been used for names:

  • PORT_FREQUENCY_[P/Q]
Where PORT can be (following the conventions explained here)
  • ASY = anti-symmetric port (transmission of signal recycling mirror)
  • SYM = symmetric port (reflection of the power recycling mirror)
  • XP = transmission of X (north) arm
  • YP = transmission of Y (west) arm
  • POBS = pick off from BS anti-reflection-coated face (the present B5 beam)
  • POX = pick-off from X input mirror anti-reflection-coated face of the beam entering the cavity
  • POY = pick-off from y input mirror anti-reflection-coated face of the beam entering the cavity
FREQUENCY can be SB1, SB2 or SB3, corresponding to demodulation at f1, f2 or f3 (beating of sidebands with carrier).

The last suffix can be P or Q depending on the demodulation phase. There always is a 90 degrees difference between the two phases.

Here are the results:
